Yarn: vintage cotton weight 2
Hook: 2mm
Time: 2hr
Notes:
- on new row: ch 2 counts as 1st dc & ch 1 counts as 1st sc
Pattern:
- R1: ch 2, foundation dc 12
- or: ch 14, dc into 3rd stitch, dc across (13)
- R2: ch 2, turn, dc into 2nd dc, dc 3, ch 2, sk 2, dc, ch 2, sk 2, sc 4
- R3: ch 2, turn, dc, ch 3, sc 3 (1 in ch before dc, 1 in dc, 1 in ch after dc), ch 3, dc 3
- R4: ch 2, turn, dc 3, ch 2, dc into middle sc, ch 2, dc 4 (2 in ch sp, 2 in last dc)
- R5: dc across (13)
- repeat R2-5 until desired length (do not fasten off!)
- i would recommend long enough to stretch across the smallest part of your waist, with about a 2 inch gap
- this way, you can wear the belt anywhere on your waist / hips
to end the belt: (do once on each side)
- R6: ch 1, turn, sk 1, sc dec, sc 8, sc dec in last 2 stitches (10)
- R7: ch 1, turn, sk 1, sc dec, sc 6, sc dec in last 2 stitches (8)
- R8: ch 1, turn, sk 1, sc dec, sc 4, sc dec in last 2 stitches (6)
- R9: ch 1, turn, sk 1, sc dec, sc 2, sc dec in last 2 stitches (4)
- R10: ch 1, turn, sk 1, 2 sc dec (2)
- R11: ch 1, turn, sk 1, sc in middle stitch, chain until desired length
- i recommend about 8-12 in, or long enough that you can stretch the belt over the widest part of your hips and have enough ends to tie it
- (+ more length if you want the ties to hang down)
